Another one for Rocky folk: How much "in-joking" is acceptable? When is the point when you have to concede you're doing it to entertain yourselves as opposed to the people who pay to see the show?

I think the point where only a few people laugh, or it's just totally cast only, like something that happened at a party or meeting is too "in". Unless that person who you are referencing is on stage and causes them to break character because they weren't expecting it. :-D
